My name is Mark and I am a part-time enthusiast photographer.

My photography specialty is simply what I call ‘Life’ photography.  I focus on the natural, simplistic, and significant (and insignificant) in the subjects I shoot.  The end results are images that are beautiful, meaningful and powerful.

I am very respectful of this art form and consider myself a student who is constantly learning and evolving.  I believe there is a clear delineation between a picture taker and a photographer.

That said, my photography oftentimes breaks my heart and makes me fall in love.  After some convincing by my friends, and becoming fed up with the countless picture takers, who are showcasing their… skills?  I’ve decided to share my photography with the world.  I don’t know which direction I am headed with my photography.  I feel that at any given moment I can put my camera down and find something more constructive and less tormenting to do with my life.

I suppose this blog can be described in a few ways; my artistic expression… I like to think it’s art.  Let’s be clear on something.  I am NOT an artist.   I’m something else.  I just haven’t figured it out yet.

If you haven’t figured it out already, this blog will be my ongoing personal conflict and mixed feelings about my photography (which I really don’t think I will ever come to terms with.)  I’ll also throw some random things out there that I find interesting and inspiring. You may love some photos that I hate and vice versa.  Or, you may not care at all.  I don’t expect that you will.  But hey, it’s here.  Feel free to comment, good or bad.

If you are interested in my services, I ask that I be considered as your secondary photographer as I do not like taking ‘manufactured photos.’  I would much rather prefer to take photos in the background.  I promise you’ll love them much more than someone asking you to say ‘cheese’!
